Macondo: Satisfy your Craving for Latin Cuisine

Last night marked the opening of a new Latin restaurant, Macondo on the Lower East Side. The restaurant is named after the fictitious Colombian town in 1967’s magically realist novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. A Black and White Look at Modeling

More than 100 pages, including the cover, feature black models on this month’s pioneering issue of Italian Vogue.

Highly praised New York photographer Steven Meisel photographed beauties like Naomi Campbell, Iman, Pat Cleveland and Liya Kebede for July’s issue. The movement was sparked by the lack of black content and advertisements featuring black woman in high fashion magazines.
