I learned what sport Scott Sartiano played in college, what someone thinks about Aalex Julian, what Jason Strauss does in his free time and much more. Behold: five useless pieces of information you never wanted to know.

1. Tenjune: The club was once home to famous doorman Aalex Julian, who is now working at NYC hotspot Simyone Lounge. With him left a lot of the nighclub’s clientele and exclusivity. The door has gotten much easier over the past few months. Table prices have been slashed and the crowd has certainly changed. (Alright, WHO wrote this crap?)
2. Scott Sartiano is an American restaurateur to Italian-American and Irish/Polish-American parents. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Columbia, SC later moving to New York City to pursue his undergraduate degree at Columbia University where he played tennis at the collegiate level. After an injury to his wrist ended his tennis career, Sartiano focused his talents in business and investments in the night club industry. (Tennis Scott? Very interesting. I wonder if you would have gone pro without the injury.)
3. Noah Tepperberg: Native New Yorkers, Tepperberg and Strauss met while in high school and formed a lasting partnership that includes many successful endeavors. (Awww Noah and Jason have a serious bromance. Super cute. ::waiting until I have to write “number 3 has been removed due to technical difficulties.” Ha!::)
4. Jason Strauss: Originally from New York, Strauss attended the Dalton School, followed by St. David’s School and Riverdale High School, where he was the captain of his football team. Strauss currently Co-Chairs, along with singer Tony Bennett, and sits on the Board of the Marty Hennessey Jr. Tennis Foundation which raises money for USTA-Nevada programs and scholarships. Spends a month a year in Europe, especially Switzerland visiting parents and family. Plays in Las Vegas tennis summer league. (Football, charity board and Switzerland? Come hang out more in New York Jason, I like you.)
5. Bungalow 8: Nightclub Maisonette 9 in Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony was based on Bungalow 8. Amy Sacco seems to approve of the reference, because in the same video game she does a very small amount of voice work, playing a budding club owner much like herself named Larissa Slalom. (This just made her cooler than she was before. Amy Sacco can do no wrong in my book. Period.)

I think we need a match between Sartiano and Strauss on the court STAT. Steve Lewis, make it happen!

Jon B. opened commercial Mediterranean Nights-themed Juliet club… the Celebrity guest who has visited Juliet is: “the situation” from jersey shore [Wikipedia]

Now this isn’t news in any way, shape or form, but it made me laugh so I wanted to share. Out of ALLLLLL the celebrities that pop into Juliet, Mike “the Situation” makes it into the Wikipedia entry. Priceless.

Oh and in case you cared, Snookie tried to go to Hudson Hotel the other day and was denied. Sigh. Seems like only yesterday these guys were poppin bottles at 1Oak, Marquee and Tenjune.

Fail of the day goes to AM New York. It’s early so maybe Noah Tepperberg will throw another fit and take that trophy away, but for right now they’re taking the cake.

Paul Sevigny Wants You To Suck On These

I’m tired of people saying they own the new Beatrice Inn and I’m not even Paul Sevigny. The latest person to utter  such blasphemies: Luis Miguel, owner of some place named Janis.

Now I’m not saying Janis isn’t the next hotspot/ current hotspot/ hotspot that people are already over, I’m just saying that if you feel the need to take over the Beatrice throne, don’t start by saying you picked up all the Beatrice leftovers.

“… now that [Beatrice] closed, this is a perfect place to come and hang out because it’s the same music and people who used to go to Bea,” said the owner, Luis Miguel. “We have the fashion people, the hipsters, the models, actors and celebrities. It’s a very nice mix.” [DT]

Jude Law and Sienna Miller are supposedly regulars, but last time I checked no one cared about Jude Law and Sienna Miller. They’re also going to have a strict door and will be a “secret” lounge under a restaurant. Snooze.

Janis opens to the public on Friday and Woofgang will be spinning. Should I be excited about this? Either way I’m sticking a fork in this place. When you violate rule number one, I really can’t take you seriously.

“I don’t know why anyone would bother comparing themselves to anything else or setting themselves up for failure,” Mr. Sevigny said from an airport in Paris, en route back to the U.S. “It’s utterly ridiculous. It’s certainly not going to be like it. Can’t all these people stand on their own two feet?” [DT]

Paul, I don’t think Luis got the memo that Janis will not be the new Beatrice ,because there will never be a new Beatrice, since Beatrice is not a franchise. I’m just saying.

In fact this fit was so big the column now reads “Number 8 has been removed due to technical difficulties.” He even asked to have JRL fired.

What’s even more interesting is that he didn’t say one word about taking Rich Thomas or Jon Schwartz or Matthew Assante off the list. I guess it was more about him and not the Strategic brand.

It is no secret that Tepperberg and JRL don’t like each other, but I don’t know why he gives a damn. If I was as big as Noah I wouldn’t care what JRL had to say. And I wouldn’t call up the head of a company to demand that I be removed from his column, or else!

He needs to take a chill pill and relax. It’s just a column dude. As JRL said, “if Noah spent less time worrying about me, maybe he’d have more hair on his head.”

Let me also say that Mike Satsky and Brian Gefter were very nice and I really really liked Stereo.

And at this point that is all I really can say. I have a severe case of the muzzles. The only cure for that is time and sunshine.

But if you do happen to make it inside PvT, you won’t recognize anyone. Not a soul. And that isn’t always a bad thing.

Word on the street is a little spot I like to frequent will be starting a hipster brunch. This will be pretty awesome, especially when you hear who’s running it.
