I like hearing music as much as the next person and I am a sucker for good pitches. And so I present to you: “the biggest thing to happen since 2 years from now” tonight at Mercury Lounge. Four acts of new music that will be huge… two years years from now.
We all have that “friend”. The “I told you about them two years before they were big” guy. The casual workday blogger, Pitchfork connoisseur with 10 hits per month on indieturd.blogspot.com and 140 Facebook updates per day.
It’s time to put that jackass in their place.
Introducing your next four favorite music artists performing this Wednesday at Mercury Lounge, two years “before they were big” for your gloating convenience. Behold…
Act 1. Burt Fox
Burt Fox is a secret weapon. Simply put, our go to DJ for any event we feel like doing, ever. The man behind our current listening and favorite radio show; RiotControl, may be the closest thing to a personal chef we’ll ever know.
Act 2. Melo-X
Intergalactic electronic ghetto romance producer extraordinaire. When not touring as Kid Sister’s DJ, Melo lurks in a multi-billion dollar secret lair off the Lorimer J-Train mixing down tracks from a forthcoming debut release.
Act 3. Keys N Krates
Canadia’s finest export and the first group to successfully pull off the live remix. We say that to say this; no one else is pulling off the live remix. F*ck what you heard.
Act 4. Cubic Zirconia
File under: Ethnic Disco / Tribal Pop / Locals Only.
This is our kickoff for the tour.
C’est la vie.
