Word over at GNML is the Boom Boom Room will not be hiring promoters, thank you very much.

Said to currently be one of the most exclusive venues in nightlife, the BBR is keepin’ up with Rose Bar and serving up $25 drinks and DP by the glass. (I once ordered a glass of DP at the Eldridge once and it set me back $27.)

Steve Lewis‘ source says the BBR crew is aiming to have “two seatings, 4-9 for small plates and 10-2/3 for late night.”

If you think about it, it makes sense.  Aside from the big $$$$ clients that roll with promoters, most people hang with them for the free drinks.  And a $25 cocktail is the furthest thing from free.

There is a reason why Rose Bar is still the crème de la crème of nightlife.  And I think André Balazs is one of the few people who gets it.
