Maybe if I don’t talk about Bungalow 8 cl*sing, I’ll wake up and it will all be a dream.
Disco kept saying it would only be a few more months, but I thought that was because he had gotten married and was leaving the scene. I didn’t think it was because the club was…
I’ve always had a theory about 27th Street. I thought of it as a body:
Bungalow 8 was the brain, Marquee was the heart, Cain and Pink Elephant were the right and left lungs, and all the other clubs were organs that could easily be replaced via transplant if necessary.
Money was the blood but fame was the oxygen. And if your brain doesn’t get enough oxygen, well you’re brain dead. You won’t die, but really, what’s left?
Money is still being thrown around at Marquee so 27th street will never *really* die and Cain and Pink Elephant still have the streets breathing (although there have been complications: Cain to Cain Luxe and this mess with Pink Elephant and Room Service). But 27th street is now officially a thing of the past.
Amy Sacco watched her child die. She kept it on life support for as long as she could, but I guess sometimes holding on is harder than letting go.
Damn. I feel like someone should hold a candlelight vigil or something.
