Whenever I go to a new club in an old space, I’m usually shocked by the transformation. Aer to Bagatelle/Kiss & Fly/ RdV or Quo to Myst and Retox to Prime. This was not the case with Griffin. If no one told me I wasn’t in PM I would not have known. I think this was because it was DARK. It was so dark I was walking into tables and squinting to see if I recognized anyone.
This place definitely needs better lighting. I’ve heard the place is magnificent and the photos I have seen are beautiful, but all of that means nothing if you can’t see a lick of it. The one thing I did notice was the candles in the bar. It was one of the sickest things I have ever seen in Manhattan.
But the crowd was not impressive. It looked like the original Kiss & Fly crowd, which is not my style. It was also very random and the music was also WAY too loud.
It was only the first week, so I will give them another week to get their sh!t together. In the meantime, Marc and Steve, when do I get a tour of the new space? I actually want to SEE it.

I heard about the make-over. Aramis who was a proprietor of the old PM is a REAL SWEETHEART and one reason I enjoyed the place when it was in its prime. Too bad about Griffin, guess the chandelier in the center of the room just isnt enough.
