Su Casa is right above the Qdoba on 8th Street and Sixth Avenue. You walk up a flight of steps, through the front door and into a sexy cocktail den.
With exposed brick, mirrors, candles and curtains, this place oozes sensuality. The vibe is similar to La Esquina and Rose Bar. The venue is divided into two parts divided by a curtain. The first section is home to the bar, a few spaces to sit down and relax, and a large window overlooking Sixth Avenue. The second section houses about a dozen tables, a mini dance floor and the DJ booth.
Owned by Steve Salis and David Howell, Su Casa has definitely brought the heat with its cocktail list. I had the Herradora and Stormy, served in a mason jar with a handle. It was delicious, delicious and delicious some more. No one would tell me what was in it, but I’m going to go poking around later today to see if I can find out. I don’t think I saw anyway drinking a vodka-cranberry. This is definitely not that type of place.
Su Casa is open starting at 3pm for happy hour and the nightlife scene begins at 9pm. The Cheshire Cat has told me meetings with DJ Lindsay Luv and Promoter Chris Shipps are in the works. Hopefully they’ll be there on the same night. They need to bring Lindsay on board ASAP because the DJ they had last night was horrible.
Overall, I think Su Casa is the next big thing. The crowd is diverse, the venue is sexy and the drinks are strong. That’s really all you need for a great party.
* Special thanks to Steve Sala and Mike Clemente for taking care of ChiChi212.

Its not a bad spot but definitely needs a better Dj… one that actually mixes.
I know. I wanted to stay longer, but I just couldn’t take it anymore. He was trying to mix MJ’s “Human Nature” into Busta’s “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” and as Lauryn Hill would say “It ain’t working. It ain’t working.” I know MJ was turning over in his grave. R.I.P.
Marshall rocked my world from behind the bar – he makes SICK DRINKS!!!! Definitely a 10.
