“The Alleged Actions Of The Standard Are Unacceptable”0 comments

Apparently City Council Speaker Christine Quinn has got her panties in a bunch.  She doesn’t appreciate the peep shows The Standard Hotel is putting on.

I don’t think Ms. Quinn realizes what The Standard Hotel has done for Manhattan and New York City as a whole. It has created jobs and has revitalized the neighborhood. There are four new venues opening in the hotel alone (a beer garden, an indoor pool, a lounge and a rooftop).

People are excited, the cobblestone streets are buzzing, and with spots like Double Seven, Abe & Arthur’s/SL (a.k.a. Simyone Lounge), Provocateur and Scott and Richie’s new place opening, there is hope. More importantly, there is money to be made.

Ms. Quinn needs to relax.
