MUST WATCH: Boy Wonder
Have you ever gone to the movies and there is a film playing that you’ve never heard of but you’re scared to spend $13.50 to find out if it’s any good? Boy Wonder could be that film for many of you, except its not because it. is. awesome! I’m not a film critic so I’m not going to go into the philosophy of the film, I will just give you the basics.
Boy Wonder follows a boy from Brooklyn whose mother was murdered in a car jacking when he was a child. He studies for classes he doesn’t have, listens to classical music and had to grow up with his father who was an alcoholic and abusive towards him and his mom.
He spends all this time at the local police station trying to solve his mother’s murder when he crosses paths with a detective who lost her husband and her family working a case and trying to bring justice to the legal system. Their stories become more and more intertwined and the movie ends with a series of “hell nos,” “oh sh!ts” and “what the f*cks.” I don’t think I’ve ever fist-pumped because a movie ending was so good, but that’s exactly what happened.
And to top off a great movie was a great after-party at District 36 with the cast and Vison Vodka. Make yourself a cocktail, peep the trailer and head to AMC Loews Village 7 to see this movie. You won’t regret it. Or you could be lame and wait for the DVD on November 8th.
