Exploring 55 Gansevoort: Tzigan

If you’re looking for Tzigan, X doesn’t mark the spot, a feather does. Down the stairs at 55 Gansevoort you’ll find the lowest level of Villa Pacri‘s he dining and nightlife complex.

Named after a community of Eastern European gypsies and inspired by the Cartier Trinity ring, Tzigan is a three room lounge with each room covered in gold, sliver or bronze.

Designed by French architect Cyril Duran-Behar and with a capacity of 150, the fireplace in the copper area and the marble bar add to the warmth and intimacy of the venue.

The coolest thing about Tzigan is that it offers its most VIP clients the opportunity to partake in a carafe program. If you are lucky enough to be selected, you may rent a shelved box to keep your favorite luxury spirits (Cognacs, Scotch and other rare brandies) stored onsite in crystal carafes made by Baccarat, Lalique or Cristallerie Royale de Champagne.
Pascal Ramette, Stephan Courseau, Maxime Paul-Mercier, Remi Laba and Aymeric Clemente have created a unique venue in the Meatpacking District and I am very interested to see what mark they make on the nightlife industry.
