Well the nail is officially in the coffin for anyone who was still holding on to the dream that Paul Sevigny and Co. would reopen the Beatrice Inn in its previous location. The hipster haven has been taken over by Cobi Levy and will be turned into a Spanish Tapas restaurant with 110 to 120 seats and one bar. Eater reports that Levy planned to close at 2 AM on Monday through Wednesday, 3 AM on Thursday through Saturday, and midnight on Sunday but settled with the CB2 for 1AM and 2AM with an opportunity to request later hours in 6 months.
Levy said he lived and worked in the neighborhood and wanted to be part of the solution. He wants the Beatrice to be a neighborhood restaurant again, not like before when the kitchen was probably used as a drug den. [Eater]
What? They had a meth lab back there? I wasn’t aware of this. Well all is not lost. With that many seats, there is still a pretty good chance of being propositioned for a threesome. One of my fondest memories from the Bea.
