AXE Launches Anarchy Line And Fabolous Performs

January 11, 2012 at 10:12 pm

I had the pleasure of attending the launch ofAXE Anarchy at the… wait for it… National Women’s Republican Club. Oh yes. You read that right. I mean I knew the event was going to be awesome because a week before a messenger showed up to my apartment with a locked briefcase and I had to wait DAYS before AXE would send me the code. But all was forgiven because they sent a code AND car service.

So I’ve seen PLENTY of AXE commercials, but I don’t think I’ve ever smelled AXE and let me tell you AXE Anarchy smells awesome. In the briefcase was plenty of products for my fiance and get this… AXE ANARCHY for WOMEN. Yay! They haven’t forgotten about us, which means their commercials will only get better. After a bunch of cocktails and some tasty appetizers, we watched the new commercial… peep it below and then were treated to a performance by NYC’s favorite rapper F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S… peep that below as well.

Job well done by AXE!

Thrillist Knows How To Throw A Birthday Party

lineThrillist.com celebrated their third birthday/anniversary last night at Greenhouse.  If you were lucky, and in line early, you were able to get in. Now I’ve seen plenty of lines but this one was already around the corner and down the block by 7pm.  Keep in mind the party wasn’t supposed to begin until 7:30pm.

I was invited by Flavie, the director of communications, to come on down at 6:30pm for the press and VIP pre-party, but I was too busy down the block eating chips and salsa at Chipotle. At 7:15 I walked right into a PACKED room full of people taking shots and drinking beers.

lobsterThe party was sponsored by Uncorked Wines, Dos Equis, and Jose Cuervo so there was a lot of heavy drinking at the open bar. Axe also had a hand in sponsorship so the Chocolate Man was in attendance and girls kept trying to bite him.  There was also some lady with a snake and some creepy lobster looking thing (see picture to the left). What WAS that?

Around 9pm we all sang happy birthday to Thrillist and ate delicious chocolate cupcakes.  I had a good time, even though the place was CROWDED.

I just felt really bad for all the people who were stuck outside listening to the Mariachi band all night. You can’t show up late to events like that.  Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable people!
