Oh my how the recession hurts. McDonald’s has teamed up with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to bring us the McCafé, its new specialty coffee. “McCafé products will be served in Bryant Park’s main tent as the “official coffee” of Fashion Week, with free espresso drinks and drip coffee available all week.”
Apparently they’re trying to “grab the attention of the tabloid-reading young women that follow the tastemakers and celebrities in the front row.” Which would be the women, not eating but drinking tons of coffee, at the tents. But I don’t know how I feel about this McCafé coffee.
Oh and McDonald’s has also teamed up with Duckie Brown and is sponsoring the line. “McCafé beverages will be handed out backstage at the show and Steven Cox, a designer of the line, will detail his experience working at a McDonald’s in the show’s program.”
Desperation smells like roasted coffee beans with a splash of half and half and 2 packets of Equal.
