No Cupcakes or Drag Queens!
On Thursday night Bloomingdales promoted a night filled of Sex And The City movie passes, a transvestite performance and cupcakes, however they did not deliver! Bloomingdales instead haphazardly held a Sex in the City event hosted by lingerie design company Costabella.
Costabella designed four collections each inspired by a Sex And The City character’s personality and style however; the designs looked more like under garments that could easily be found in a Chinatown supermarket. The drag queens were replaced by a fashion show that did not show the entire collection because they were short a model/staff worker, I could not tell the difference due to their modeling abilities, or should I say inabilities?
Cupcakes were replaced with tiny Chinese take out boxes filled with an Asian inspired noodle. Pink Cosmo’s were also served but I did not get a chance to try a one, due to the hoard of shoppers and tourists who blockaded the make shift bar in the middle of the Calvin Klein underwear section.
Shoppers who were in the know formed an ambiguous line around the perimeter of the lingerie section of Bloomy’s. They somehow knew about the movie passes that were being handed out in the back staff room. The lucky people who did wait in the line for passes also received an I heart NY t-shirt, I could just see Carrie wearing a cliché I heart NY T-shirt.
