Rose Bar, Russell Simmons, Blah Blah Blah

Rose Bar/Jade Bar is one of those places that will ALWAYS be cool to a select number of individuals, even though a few blogs are saying it’s “reign of cool” is over.

I will say the door is tough. The last few times I have been there I was the only non-model. Sort of the “beached whale” of the bunch. This time I was with a bunch of lawyers. Now aside from a few bumbles at the door eventually my group, the other group was already inside, was let in.

Now for those of you who’ve never been to Rose/Jade, let me give you the basics. Located in the Gramercy Park Hotel, Rose Bar and Jade Bar are dark, swanky, and packed with models and celebrities. Why just last night Russell Simmons was all in my way. But he was not with Porsha or Porschela or Ferrari or whatever her name is. He was with some girl who looked like Tinsley Mortimer.

But it was a little too crowded last night. Rose Bar is one of those “see and be seen” places where no one looks like they’re “actually” having fun. Where all the pleasure comes from knowing you’re at Rose Bar and lots of other people, are not.

Had it been a little less packed and I had room to dance I would have had a lot more fun. But it’s still a sexy spot and worth going to if you can get in.
