Satsky And Gefter To Open Up A Cafe And Lobby Bar
I was walking past the Gansevoort the other day and saw that Mike Satsky and Brian Gefter are opening up a lobby bar and outdoor cafe. Well that extra income will definitely be a silver lining in their cloud. With who-knows-what happening with Lily Pond and the Cheshire Cat telling me Provocateur being months behind on its rent, these two need all the help they can get.
Now before you start thinking that PvT is two months away from closing, which it is not (at least not that I know of), remember that being behind on your rent for a new space is completely normal. Usually a period of time is allotted for a build out, and if the space took too long, then the venue would be behind. This isn’t surprise because like I said, the lounge is stunningly beautiful. The place also looked like this, weeks before it was supposed to open. Update: reps for Provocateur say they are not behind on their rent. Well I guess that settles that.
With the Koch Brothers now in SoHo on Saturdays and out East in a few weeks, there is room for another house-thumping-rose-spraying-brunch-party in the MPD. Maybe Satsky and Gefter will capitalize on it.
