Taste NYC Kicks Off CMJ 2009

Patrick Cervantes Letterii is an actor/writer/musician living in Brooklyn. He runs a theatre company with his friends called “Tenement Street Workshop,” putting on Theatre events and concerts around the city.The third annual CMJ kickoff party went down Sunday night at the Thompson LES Hotel, asTaste NYC took over the hotel’s sleek lounge with the laid-back beats of some of New York’s finest DJs.

I particularly dug the vibe that Stimulus and Free the Robots provided, playing into the hipster-chic scene, but also giving us some complex music that was a dope way to end the weekend.

Taste NYC has been putting on rad shows for awhile now, and the LES session didn’t disappoint. I caught up with the crew at Taste NYC to get a taste of their upcoming events (sorry for the elementary pun):

-Wednesday, we’re doing a private party at Norwood with Michna, James Pants and FaltyDL
-Plug Research record label showcase with Bilal, Pharoahe Monch, Blu and Exile, J-Rocc vs. Dj Spinna and INSANE special guests.. at BLVD.
-Friday we have the Beatjunkies, Babu JRocc et al… At Sutra Lounge.
