Urban Daddy Holiday Party
After last year’s Urban Daddy Holiday Party I had pretty high expectations for this one. Founder and CEO Lance Broumand did not disappoint. This party blew last year’s out of the water. People often compare Urban Daddy to Thrillist and although I like the content and staff of both, I’m on team UD.
Thrillist is for who your boyfriend actually is, Urban Daddy is for the man you want him to be. With that said, let’s recap this party!
- The space: The decadent soiree was held at 711 Greenwich and that space is absolutely phenomenal!!! With a large main room, a balcony, a VIP lounge and a smoking patio, this was a great pick. There were large projectors on each wall playing snowfall on loop. It was gorgeous.
- The food: EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS.
- Dinner: A Peking Duck bar by Top Chef Harold Dieterle, lamb chops, lobster, oysters, shrimp, king crab, parmesan bread sticks wrapped in prosciutto and so many more delicious hors d’oeuvres. Little Owl did an amazing job.

- Dessert: There was a dessert room! Red velvet cake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, cupcakes, strawberries, brownies and every candy you have ever eaten from daddy long legs and smarties to fireballs and lemonheads. There were also dessert cocktails! I’m in love with Diamonds and Dessert: A Diamond Is Forever.
- Drinks: Patron tequila bar and Veuve Cliquot champagne bar. There was also a spiked coffee bar by Patron XO. The best part there were five bars (three main, one dessert and one for the smokers on the patio) so there was never a line. And the waitresses walked around with magnums to refill everyone.
- Music: DJ Mia Moretti was on the ones and twos playing the best hipsterdom had to offer. Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings graced the stage with an amazing performance.
- Extras: There was a diamond suit by Everlon Diamond Knot Collection. There was also a diamond ice sculpture on the patio. Josh Beckerman was there performing magic tricks at my table and freaking me out/blowing my mind at the same time!
Urban Daddy wins for best holiday party. Period. File that under “What Recession?”
