And you should be too. Seeing as we posted the RSVP details a few days ago. The vision of Country Club is as follows: “The Rolling Stones recording an album at a traditional English Manor and the environment that would be left upon the album’s completion.” So I guess I can wear my seersucker dress with patent leather pumps? Fabulous!
The folks behind this one are actor Will DeMeo (perhaps best known from The Sopranos) and Cincinnati Reds pitcher–cover musician Bronson Arroyo (they are to Country Club what actor-baller owners Chris Noth and David Wells are to the Plumm, next-door) [info courtesy of Grub Street]
Anywho, I was reading the press release for this place and decided to pull and post a few statements so you can see just what you’re getting into tonight. Full release available on Guest of a Guest.
Country Club is a sophisticated, high-energy cocktail lounge that combines elements of a modern social club with a live entertainment venue, for a unique nightlife experience.
Décor development was assigned to Jeani Ziering, the renowned interior designer known for her work on private residences in Palm Beach, Southampton, and Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The designer has utilized luxurious fabrics and timeless patterns (including alligator skin and houndstooth prints), and a color palette that will juxtapose the classic clubhouse furnishings.
The cocktail list is centered on an extensive list of Bellini”s, featuring 15 variations on the high-society cocktail. Club goers will have their choice of peach, roasted pear, orange-cardamom, chocolate-espresso and a Bordeaux version, inspired by the region of France, and an assortment of others.
Focused on a commitment to servicing our customers every whim, revelers will be treated like members of a posh British country club. By marrying the sophistication of an upscale cocktail lounge with late night energy of a nightclub, Country Club will be a must for refined New York socializing.
Country Club will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and until 4 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday.I wonder why they didn’t try to be a Monday night hot spot? We’ll find out if it lives up to the hype and report back tomorrow.
