Your New Favorite Club, The Darby: Coming To 14th Street Labor Day 2010
So people are finally talking about Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva‘s new space and it will be called The Darby.
This won’t be just another nightlife place,” Richie told the NYT. “I want to bring back an old-fashioned sense of class from the ’50’s and ’60’s, like El Morocco, a place where you can dress up, have an amazing dinner and some music and entertainment.”
He’s right. It won’t be another nightlife place. It will be THE nightlife place. I told you when I saw it back in February that this place is going to be INSANE as a lounge, and now we’re learning that that food will be good too.
Alexandra Guarnaschelli is bringing a raw bar and some seafood to the MPD and I’m sure it will be delicious. With Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm‘s place opening one block away, there will be plenty of fish in the 14th street sea.
Since it’s set to open around Labor Day, I should be able to start leaking tidbits soon without getting banned for life.
